Support the Director of Operations in management and leadership across the Emergency Department and Trauma & Orthopaedics.
Be a part of a leadership triumvirate, responsible for supporting the effective and efficient delivery of the day-to-day operational performance.
Ensuring sustainable delivery of high quality patient care, safety processes, operational standards and quality / service improvement programmes.
Effectively respond and deliver the Emergency access targets and form a Trust response.
Ensure that all performance targets relevant to Emergency Department are met and that Divisional objectives are promoted.
Manage service changes and improvements for the Emergency Department as required.
Review clinical activity on a regular basis and to manage the Emergency Department service effectively.
Support and lead the Emergency Care Improvement Plan.

A Prince2 qualified Operational Service Manager with a solid track record of various healthcare specialisms mainly within an acute setting.
Acute Operational Service Management in various specialities including Gastroenterology, Endoscopy, Decontamination, Trauma & Orthopaedics, Ophthalmology, Diabetes and Endocrinology, Respiratory, Neuroscience, Cardiology.
RTT management and track record of improving RTT status within acute specialities to meet Trust and National Targets.

Medical staffing management of permanent clinicians, managing locum bookings and contracts, including ward and on-call.

Key Deliverables

The Service Manager will be responsible for assisting in delivering T&O Services.
Demonstrate effective leadership to specific clinical and non-clinical teams.
Supporting the Senior Management Team, Consultant Surgeons and other stakeholders in daily Management of T&O.
Input into the divisional transformation programme within the wider trust transformation team.
Ensure the achievement of national access targets including 18 week RTT, emergency care targets and cancer targets.
Day to day operational management for services.
Contribute to the wider management of the Division and of the Trust on specific projects as and when appropriate.
Production of plans, documentation and the responsibility of ensuring communication is maintained between all stakeholders.
