• Work with the divisional management team to ensure the achievement of performance and other local and national clinical and non-clinical targets.
• Effective management of the PTL (patient tracking list) and outpatient services.
• Provide first line operational management to outpatient and administrative departments and supervise systems and processes.
• Provide strong and effective leadership to specific clinical and non-clinical teams and individuals.

• To act as an integral member of the Divisional senior management team on both strategic and operational matters within the Medicine directorate.
• Attend / chair committees and management groups as required.
• Support the Divisional management function including strategic change management, service developments and improvements which reflect the overall Trust and Division objectives.
• Assist with projects which may cross Divisions and require input from commissioning bodies and external agencies.
• Contribute towards the financial management of the Division ensuring any opportunities for increased efficiency are realised.
• Work closely with lead clinicians and senior managers to project manage the delivery of improvements.
• To be responsible for the operational management and performance for Medicine in conjunction with clinical leads.
• Work with the Divisional Head of Nursing and operational department leads to ensure efficient and effective delivery of services within Medicine.
• To line manage admin staff including the Business Support Manager and pathway co-ordinators.

• Providing the day to day clinical and operational management of the acute inpatient mental health team.
• Constructively contributing to the strategic direction and development of the service.
• Responsible to the Senior Management Team, to ensure the management of the service meets its contractual obligations.
• Ensuring all operational and clinical data requirements on the Key Performance Indicators are submitted within agreed deadlines.
• Utilising KPI data to manage the performance of the team and individual staff.
• Taking proactive action in the case of clinical or financial under-performance.
• Supporting and developing junior members of your nursing teams and driving forwards the quality of mental health services.

• Reporting to the Divisional Director this post will provide operational management and support to the Directorate.

• Lead Theatres service delivery in accordance with agreed operational plans, meeting all key standards and KPIs.
• Support the delivery of the theatre efficiency programme.
• Co-ordination of the theatre team, day surgery unit and central admissions team.
• Reconfiguration of theatres and improvement of theatres utilisation.
• Working with the Divisional Director to provide effective leadership of the division.
• Work collectively with Clinicians and Managers to ensure effective delivery of service objectives across Theatres.
• Maintain delivery of service targets whilst improving quality, efficiency and effectiveness of services.
• Ensure that the highest quality, effective and efficient services are operationally delivered within defined costs, time-scales and resources.
• Operate effective and appropriate planning processes and structures, including communication arrangements.

• We are looking for a highly motivated individual with excellent interpersonal skills and experience in operational management to support the delivery of high-quality and efficient patient services.
• The successful candidate will also have experience in managing 18 weeks RTT pathways within a Surgical Speciality.
• Oversee the operational delivery of all services in the Directorate ensuring safe care and effective use of all resources.
• Specifically, to take a lead in achieving key performance standards in line with the national and local agreements.
• Support the strategic development of services in achieving the requirements and the services developments required in line with the local health economy.
• Maintain a visible presence within all areas of the Directorate promoting understanding of services and the ability to directly support staff, patients and carers.

Key Deliverables

• The Service Manager will be responsible for assisting in delivering T&O Services.
• Demonstrate effective leadership to specific clinical and non-clinical teams.
• Supporting the Senior Management Team, Consultant Surgeons and other stakeholders in daily Management of T&O.
• Input into the divisional transformation programme within the wider trust transformation team.
• Ensure the achievement of national access targets including 18 week RTT, emergency care targets and cancer targets.
• Day to day operational management for services.
• Contribute to the wider management of the Division and of the Trust on specific projects as and when appropriate.
• Production of plans, documentation and the responsibility of ensuring communication is maintained between all stakeholders.
• Ensure all organisational procedures are adhered to, objectives are identified and met, and benefits realised from the implementation of change.

Key deliverables:

• This post will provide general operational management and business support to the cardiology department.
• Taking on specific projects for the cardiology division and deputising for the DM at meetings.
• Oversee the day-to-day business management of the cardiology service
• Manage Laboratories, diagnostics, 18 weeks RTT and fast track clinics.
• Provide strong and effective leadership to specific clinical and non-clinical teams and individuals.
• Support the establishment of a clear vision for these specific work areas with senior colleagues to create a working environment that empowers staff to achieve optimal performance.
