Interim Safeguarding Specialist – Adults

Key deliverables:

Provide specialist knowledge, advice and practice to Trust staff consistent with the requirements of the Trust Safeguarding Adult policy and procedure.
Effectively promote the Safeguarding of Vulnerable Adults by enabling staff to identify families were Adult Safeguarding may be an issue.
Ensure records for Safeguarding Vulnerable Adults are written and stored in compliance with the policies and clinical governance framework of the Trust.
Contribute to the management of risk in relation to individual cases.
Provide specialist knowledge, support and advice to staff on safeguarding adult issues.
Undertake project work in relation to developing the Safeguarding Unit.

Key criteria / Deliverables:

Must be clinically qualified.
Support a group of CCG’s in the setting up of new Personal Health Budgets (PHBs).
Implement the next stage of PHBs for the local population.
Support the Strategic Lead to develop the service moving forward.
The PHB programme has been expanded beyond Continuing Care in line with the National Strategic direction.
Use clinical expertise to analyse and challenge health information and assessments to ensure that an accurate assessment of children’s needs are documented.
Provide high quality, integrated health assessments for children and young people across the area that will determine eligibility for Children’s Continuing Care.
This is an exciting opportunity to influence the implementation of PHBs to enable children and their carers to have more input to the way their care is delivered.

Provide training and safeguarding supervision to Children’s Services.
Develop, coordinate and deliver a comprehensive Inter-Agency, Training Programme covering all aspects of Child Protection
Write training materials, articles, policies, action plans and conference reports.
Deliver quality assurance and identifying improvements to Children’s services.
Ensure that safeguarding systems are in place of a robust standard to comply with legal requirements.
Must have safeguarding experience to provide advice and support to the Service.
