Key deliverables:

• Work with the Clinical Lead to provide general operational management and business support to the Surgery & Critical Care services.
• Working with the Clinical Lead the Clinical Service Manager is responsible for the operational / budgetary management and development of a defined range of clinical services.
• Leading the delivery of major performance targets in the NHS plan to improve access to and quality of patient service.
• Ensure delivery of corporate and divisional performance targets.
• Liaising with a variety of service improvement programmes including colleagues in cancer services and coronary heart disease.
• Developing, testing and implementing new ways of working to improve patient services.
• Ensure that the services provided by the Clinical Business Units are  in line with best practice guidelines.
• Undertake reviews of current services to ensure seamless pathway for patients.

Key deliverables:

• This post will provide general operational management and business support to the Emergency Department.
• Ensure effective processes and procedures are in place to facilitate patients admissions to the correct ward and assuring effective care.
• Development and embedding the use of Ambulatory care as part of the Emergency department.
• Provide strong and effective leadership to specific clinical and non-clinical teams and individuals.
• Support the establishment of a clear vision for these specific work areas with senior colleagues to create a working environment that empowers staff to achieve optimal performance.
• Contribute to the wider management of the Directorate and of the Trust on specific projects and transformation as and when appropriate.

Key deliverables:

• Support the Director of Operations in management and leadership across the Emergency Department.
• Effectively respond and deliver the Emergency access targets and form a Trust response.
• Ensure that all performance targets relevant to Emergency Department are met and that Divisional objectives are promoted.
• Manage service changes and improvements for the Emergency Department as required.
• Review clinical activity on a regular basis and to manage the Emergency Department service effectively.
• Support and lead the Emergency Care Improvement Plan.

The Crown Commercial Service (CCS) has brought together Government’s central commercial capability into a single organisation, amalgamating Government Procurement Service with other commercial teams from the Cabinet Office and central government departments.

CCS is an executive agency of the Cabinet Office and operates as a trading fund under the Government Trading Funds Act 1973. CCS also works closely with arm’s length bodies, non-departmental public bodies, executive agencies and organisations across the whole of the UK public sector including health, local government, education, devolved administrations, emergency services and not for profit organisations.
