Duration: 3 months initially

The post holder will be responsible for the overall operational effectiveness and leadership of several of the Division’s Business Units.
Responsibility for the delivery of all performance standards including national cancer waiting times and referral to treatment (RTT) indicators for the specialties.
Provide the day to day leadership within the business units to ensure all functions executed comply with established governance arrangements.
Proactively support all quality and service improvement initiatives.
Responsibility for complaint management, implementation and monitoring of relevant guidance.
Line manage staff within the Business Units and work in collaboration with the Clinical Leads to ensure effective workforce planning, performance of teams and on-going business development.
Deputise for the Head of Cancer Services and will represent the Trust at relevant Strategic Clinical Network and Cancer Alliance.

A Prince2 qualified Operational Service Manager with a solid track record of various healthcare specialisms mainly within an acute setting.
Acute Operational Service Management in various specialities including Gastroenterology, Endoscopy, Decontamination, Trauma & Orthopaedics, Ophthalmology, Diabetes and Endocrinology, Respiratory, Neuroscience, Cardiology.
RTT management and track record of improving RTT status within acute specialities to meet Trust and National Targets.
Producing high quality reports including Business Cases and financial forecasts.
Implementation of Governance structures within acute specialisms.
Specialist overall knowledge and experience within endoscopy, bowel cancer screening, decontamination and delivering JAG (Joint Accreditation Group – standards within endoscopy to deliver Bowel Cancer Screening and increased tariff for procedures).
Staff management including, leading and managing teams developing a positive productive teams environment, recruitment, job descriptions, managing performance, appraisals and staff development.
Medical staffing management of permanent clinicians, managing locum bookings and contracts, including ward and on-call.
