Provide evidenced based expert clinical practice, advice, and leadership for IPC to clinical teams and managers across the Trust.
Working closely with the Deputy Director of Nursing, Quality and Governance deliver the organisations strategic aims for IPC, maintaining compliance with the Health and Care Standards
Co-ordinate, further develop and maintain high quality, safe and effective systems for strategic development with effective implementation of clinical activity across the Trust, underpinned by excellent IPC practices.
Lead the function with an attitude which respects and values patients and their needs in relation to reducing their risk of Health Care Associated Infections.
Provide leadership to the operational teams who deliver the required IPC statutory requirements and other patient care and cleanliness standards.
Act as a change agent for the development and implementation of innovations in IPC practice and service modernisation, working in line with the Trusts overall aims and priorities.

• Develop policy and procedure in assigned areas, including briefings, commissioning, business, or resources.
• Propose, draft, implement, and interpret changes to policies, guidelines, and service level agreements.
• Suggest changes and make recommendations for the delivery of various projects.
• Develop policy and service development for the service based on Public Health research and collaboration with the health and care system and local health authorities.

• Take a lead role in providing senior clinical leadership for the division’s Patient First Programme activities, ensuring the delivery of objectives at divisional and Trust level.

Providing senior leadership and experience in the identification of improvement and transformation opportunities, leading and supporting the successful delivery of initiatives, projects and programmes across clinical and non-clinical functions, including:

• Supporting senior leaders to develop ambitious transformation plans which drive improvement and innovation, maximise the use of digital technologies and align to local system priorities and national direction of change.
• Identify, assign and provide effective and appropriate improvement support from the team, ranging from: Complex problem-solving analysis, using excellent analytical skills
• Facilitating workshops to support teams to think creatively to design improvements, plan delivery, lessons learnt etc.

Supporting the Assistant Director of Improvement and Transformation, this role will take a lead for providing advanced specialist redesign expertise to the organisation. Leading on large scale and key strategic transformation programmes across the organisation and in collaboration with system partners delivering sustainable, innovative, and effective changes to improve the services we provide.

• Design the transformation blueprint providing the strategic and comprehensive plan which outlines the key elements, goals, and steps required to achieve a significant organisational/service transformation.
• Select and apply the most appropriate design or improvement methodology for addressing complex improvement challenges in a complex transformation context.
• Support and mentor others in navigating and selecting the most effective approach in addressing complex challenges.
• Design and facilitate workshops/design sessions with stakeholders and team members to generate and assess innovative solutions.
• Develop, plan, and lead the implementation of large-scale transformation programmes, aligning initiatives with organisational objectives and system priorities. Ensuring interdependencies are identified and managed, impact measures/benefits, resources, timescales, risk, issues, and assumptions.

Job Purpose / Responsibilities:

Our Client, based in the Midlands is seeking to recruit an Interim Service Manager for a busy Stroke service and to assist with some project based works-streams for an initial 3 month period whilst a substantive recruitment process takes place.

• We are looking for a highly motivated individual with excellent interpersonal skills and experience in operational management to support the delivery of high-quality and efficient patient services.
• Oversee the operational delivery of all services in the Directorate ensuring safe care and effective use of all resources.

Job Summary

The post holder will work as part of a single senior management team and this role will lead the management and delivery of the 111/999 contracts. The role will have responsibility and accountability for agreeing the contractual terms and associated commissioning arrangements, whilst also supporting the development of new commissioning and provision models through the creation of Integrated Care Systems and more collaborative and Place-based working.

Specific Duties

• Act as a Director Lead within the developing local commissioning architecture across the area and influencing and supporting the future development of regional commissioning alongside other leads.
• Responsibility for leading the commissioning and improvement work-stream programmes of the regional contracts, and 111/999 including planning, negotiations, contracting, performance and all projects which supports and enables an environment of continuous improvement to deliver on all the 111/999 targets and programmes of improvement.
• Delivery of the national, regional and local targets relating to 111/999 contracts, regional and local urgent care strategies, quality premia, performance benchmarks and other targets established through commissioners and local providers.
• Ensure that the programme systematically prioritises patient safety and improving quality of services for patients, and that this commitment by commissioners is recognised and respected by stakeholders including patients and service users.
• Ensure that the commissioning of the service is fully aligned with the quality agenda, and is reflected in the contracts, and contracting process.
• Support the modernisation of 111/999 services supporting key service reviews and developing appropriate strategies across the health and social care community systematically

Suitable candidates will be educated to masters level in relevant subject or equivalent level of experience of working at a similar level in specialist area and have proven and significant leadership experience in the delivery of large scale NHS projects/programmes.

The Deputy Director of Operations is responsible for delivering the Trust’s Strategy, within Specialist Medicine Division and Local Services, incorporating the following:

• Ensuring the standardisation of services across all relevant specialities to the best possible level, so that patients experience high quality care;
• Lead on the planning, development and delivery of services to ensure that there is a common understanding of capacity and demand with clear operational plans to deliver the best in care in the most appropriate settings;
• Planning and managing services to ensure the best possible use of resources. This will include income opportunities, reducing run-rate, delivering cost improvement programmes (CIPs)  and delivering the recommendations from benchmarking tools such as Model Hospital and GIRFT;
• Leading the development of a sustainable workforce across multiple disciplines that is fit for the future within their area of responsibility;
• Working with system partners to put in place clinical pathways that care for patients in the most appropriate settings, and reducing inappropriate or avoidable demand for acute services.
• The Deputy Director of Operations will be responsible for all aspects of operational performance of the Division whilst maintaining quality standards and for ensuring the implementation and maintenance of good governance arrangements. This includes the line management of Service Unit Managers and associated teams.

Suitable candidates will have extensive experience at Senior Management level within an Acute setting and educated to Masters’ level or equivalent.
